Hundreds place at the top
Tens place in the middle
Ones place on the bottom

You count the knots on the string.
If they are at the top it represents 100,in the middle is 10,and at the bottom 1.

You count the knots on the string. If they are at the top it represents 100, middle is 10 and bottom 1

You count the knots depending on were they are located.
If they are at top it represents the hundreds, if they are in the middle they represent the tens and if they are at the bottom they represent the ones.
